Are You Confused? I Am!

Dear Readers:

Just a quick note to you about your email subscriptions.  As of late, my email subscribers have not been receiving my new posts.  I take this very seriously as most of you have been loyal readers.  Today, I have reset my email options, in order to try to reset the functionality of this service.  Hopefully, you got an email with a synopsis of the last few posts that might not of made it your way.

Feel free to email me directly, if you continue not to receive my emails and I will try some other changes to see if I can't get my posts to you.

There, also, seems to be a problem with people not being able to leave comments.  If you aren't able to comment on the bottom of my blog....please feel free to email me to let me know and I will continue my efforts to get that corrected.     artofconflicted@aol.com

Still the very conflicted and now very annoyed,

Cheryl P.

Leaving a comment just to let you know I could. Sorry you're in tech hell, my friend. Been there. Not fun.

Thanks, Jayne! This week has just been one glitch after another. Hopefully, things will get back on track soon.

Ugh. I hope those issues get resolved ASAP!

It's not looking good right now. Very limited number of people are able to comment. I think it is just a few that have Disqus Id's. Truly pissing me off! Oh, well...

Maybe this is starting to work...I can only hope. One of my best commenters that has been signing in with the Open ID says he is getting a message saying the email address is already in use. He tried another and his comment still isn't coming through. I have no idea what he is seeing or what the problem is.

Thank you, Dark UFO! I appreciate you helping me on this!!!

@Cherylper:disqus

Glad to help. I'm a big disqus user myself on my blogger blogs :)

I've seen issues with OpenID in the past. I'm not 100% sure they even officially support it any more as so few people use it.

Might be better for them to to register a free disqus account and then in disqus account link it to their openid.

@Cherylper:disqus Did you get your email subscriptions working?

I think so. I will know for sure Tuesday when I publish my next post. I switched my feed setting to short from full because, it occurred to me that I might of had one post that didn't send out for some reason (I had several error messages #503 on Feedburner Medic.) and because I use so many graphics that perhaps the stack of unsent posts put me over the 512K file size. When I changed it to short, 5 posts went out. I have no idea if that breaks the jam up or not....but I did that short little post as a way to see it it would email out. It did.
I notice when I check that Feedburner Medic page..all my posts initially show an error of 503, then right behind it it says me feed is healthy.
DarkUFO...I am so technically challenged. I understand next to nothering about feeds.

No problem :)

I've subscribed to your emails now as well so I can also see if I get one when you next publish.

Yep, long posts can cause issues and using the short feed is a good idea if you do have large posts.

I have been doing tons of reading since this started which has prompted more questions than answers. You say you use Disqus on your Blogger Blogs. Are you a Wordpress user as well? If so, do you use the commenting program that comes with Wordpress? Do you have a favored blog format? If you are employed by Google/Blogger I hope I am not insulting you.

Thanks!!! I reset it to full because I am on a couple of syndicated sites that require it. It was set back to full when the short post went out. Hopefully, Tuesday's post will go out. I haven't written it yet nor have I drawn my cartoons yet so I don't know how big of file it will be.

Nope, not a Google Employee :) I'm what's called a Top Contibutor (TC). Just another user but have lots of years experience with the product.

No, I don't use Wordpress on my sites, I just use blogger (www.spoilertv.com) is my site.

I have been there too..guess we get what we pay for..I found blogger wanted me to use only blogger and google and needed my cell phone # to verify...crazy...that was the only way I got things back to normal...I hated most the time it took to figure things out. good luck!!

I had problems leaving a comment last week... if this posts, it works now. If it doesn't, I'm typing this for no reason and you'll never see it anyway, so titty sprinkles.

Cheryl P. said...

Ahhh...Maybe I am back in business. I probably just jinxed myself by typing that, huh?

FYI - My comments come and go. Some I can see with one browser and not the other.....very annoying!

I have the same deal. Sometimes the comment section works and sometimes it doesn't. Today it is giving me fits. Ditto.... Very annoying
