Has it just been a week since last Friday?

Wasn't it just one week ago that everyone was talking about the Royal Wedding.  Talking on every channel, in every newspaper, nearly every form of media was royal this and royal that.  Not complaining mind you.  It was and is a nice story of youthful beginnings and all that.  But here we are a week later talking non-stop on every channel, every newspaper and nearly every form of media about Osama Bin Laden's death.  What a difference a week can make.

I do hope his death will help people find some closure, although, I doubt that anyone can heal completely from the damage done my Bin Laden and his regime.

I can't help but  find a lot of the reports and news very unsettling.  I am glad he is gone but still it is hard to be joyous as in the scenes we see on the news.  I don't begrudge how anyone else handles this but for me I am tentative to see what happens next.

Maybe because I live in Kansas I keep thinking of the scene in the Wizard of Oz where the house lands on the Witch.

All the people gather in the street singing: Ding Dong the Witch is Dead. They are all so happy and festive and grateful. But I am like Dorthy, I am going around looking very nervous and wanting to know what happens next.

OK, I am grateful but still unsettled.  Maybe singing would help:

Sing along, I am sure you all know the tune....

Ding Dong the Dick is dead, Which Old Dick? The Wicked ol' Dick,
Ding Dong the Wicked Old Dick is Dead.

Wake up sleepy head, rub your eyes, get out of bed
Wake up the wicked old Dick is dead, He's gone to where the crackpots go
Below, below below, Yo-yo let's open up and sing and ring the bells, oh..

Ding Dong, the Merry Oh, Sing it High Sing it Low
Let them Know
The Wicked Old Dick is Dead

(remember this part is spoken) You can play the part of the Mayor.

I Welcome you most regally,
But we've got to verify it, legally, to see
   Too See?
    If He
     If He?
Is Morally, Ethically,
Spiritually, Physically,
Positively, Absolutely,
Undeniably, and Reliably Dead.

He's not only merely dead, he's really most sincerely dead.

Let the joyous news be spread, the Wicked old Dick at last is Dead.

Would have been nice if a house had dropped out of the sky 10 years ago and done him just as it did the original old Witch.

Nope, singing it didn't help.  Still unsettled but the thought of those little Munchkin singing will stick in my brain for a bit and keep me distracted.

I know I posted this one other time but it fits with this post so we are having a rerun.

The Good for the Day....One major lunatic of a terrorist...gone.

The Bad for the Day... I am avoiding all bad today

The Weird for the Day....Changing the subject entirely, my weird for the day is the names Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon named the twins....er..the babies.    Monroe Cannon isn't so unusual, I guess.
But Morrocan Cannon? ?
