No Going Back

Note to my readers this morning:   After I published my post today...it vanished.  Poof...just vanished.  I am trying to remember what I wrote on the fly so sorry to say...what you get is what I can remember writing about.  Blogger is being very unfriendly today.  I find this especially ironic as I am talking about do-overs.  Someone at Blogger has a evil sense of humor.

Have you ever done something, only to regret having done it and wish for a do over?  Perhaps, several do-overs such as Bill Murray had in the movie Groundhog's Day.   This weeks "odd news makers might of wished for a second chance.

From Bad to Worse

A man in China, was supposedly so depressed by his lacking love life that in a moment of desperation, he cut off his penis, the Mirror reported. (Now that isn't going to do much for his love life, is it?)
Shortly after his amateur amputation, 26-year-old Yang Hu had second thoughts and quickly got to a hospital in hopes of getting his sex organ reattached.

Actually "quickly" is the wrong word since he went to the hospital by riding his bicycle. To make matters worse -- as if that's possible -- he actually forgot to bring his chopped-off penis with him, requiring him to ride his bike back to the home, the Daily Star reported.

When he returned with his dismembered organ, the doctors gave him some bad news: Because Yang's penis had been without blood for too long, it would be impossible to reattach, HuffPost UK reported.

The rule of thumb as far as any body part...don't leave home without it.

Speaking of Missing Body Parts

A severed finger left at the crime scene helped police in Glendale,  Arizona arrest a man suspected of trying to steal copper wire.

An air conditioning company employee reported to the Glendale police that  someone tried to steal the wire from his truck on Oct. 7th.

The spool of wire — worth more than $300 — had been pulled out about 20 feet from the truck, and what appeared to be a cut off finger was caught in the wiring.

Police retrieved the finger as evidence, and forensic technicians were able to match the fingerprint to 29-year-old Joshua Allen Goverman.

Goverman told detectives he lost a finger while working on a car. (not really a great excuse as the police had caught him red handed albeit minus one finger) He was booked on suspicion of theft.

Authorities didn't know whether Goverman had a lawyer who could be reached for comment.

Perhaps, Goverman is having trouble dialing his lawyer's number.

Do Over and Over and Over

A Kingsport, Tennessee woman's food cravings allegedly ran amok Wednesday morning, as her boyfriend's refusal to go to McDonald's spurred her to run him over with a pickup truck — striking him three times.

Crystal Greer Brooks was arrested shortly after midnight when police arrived at the scene and found evidence of injuries to Brook's boyfriend that appeared to be consistent with being dragged under the truck.

Upon interviewing a witness, police learned Brooks, her boyfriend and an acquaintance had "all been drinking" then had decided to go out to get something to eat.  (are we surprised about the drinking part?)

Brooks allegedly became angry at their choice of restaurant — which is not identified in the police report — and demanded that her boyfriend pull his pickup truck to the side of the road. As he exited and walked to the front of the vehicle, she slid behind the wheel.

According to witness statements to police, Brooks then pulled forward and struck her boyfriend, knocking him, "onto the hood and then onto the ground." She's then alleged to have accelerated forward two additional times, striking her boyfriend in each instance.

Brooks denied hitting the man with the truck, claiming that he had, "jumped onto the hood." Based on his injuries and tattered clothing, police determined otherwise.

An individual who accompanied the pair attributed the attack to the golden arches, saying Brooks, "was mad they didn't stop at McDonald's."

Brooks was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, booked into the city jail and then transported to the Sullivan County jail in Blountville.

That is the very definition of a Mac-attack.  You have to wonder what the boyfriend's choice of a restaurant was, if McDonalds was a step up.

They Have a Plan

Every week when Crabby Pants and I look over the odd news reports, we come to the conclusion that at some point all of the subjects of these stories, thought they had a brilliant plan.  But, alas, at some point things went wrong.  Here are a few of the great ideas that have the potential for disaster this week.

Dental Plan

A Canadian dentist is hoping to clone John Lennon using DNA from one of the singer's rotten teeth. Michael Zuk, who bought Lennon's molar at a 2011 auction, has begun sequencing the former Beatle's DNA – the first step in a process set out by scientists who propose to clone a woolly mammoth.

Two years ago the Red Deer based dentist paid £19,500 for a "discolored molar" that had been passed down by Lennon to his Weybridge housekeeper, Dot Jarlett. It was acquired in the mid-60s, and Jarlett's son said it had "been in the family ever since". At the time of the sale, Omega auction house claimed the tooth was "too fragile" for DNA testing.

The tooth has since  been couriered to an unnamed US lab where scientists are "considering ways to extract it's genetic code". "I am nervous and excited at the possibility that we will be able to fully sequence John Lennon's DNA," Zuk said. "With researchers working on ways to clone mammoths, the same technology certainly could make human cloning a reality."

Zuk is convinced with new advances in genetic research, he believes that Lennon's DNA can be harvested and, in time, converted from tissue cells into stem cells, and eventually into a reborn Beatle. "To say I had a small part in bringing back one of rock's greatest stars would be mind-blowing," he said. (Am I being harsh by thinking maybe Zuk's mind is already blown?)

In the meantime, Zuk is promoting his other dental endeavors: pendants and a sculpture made from Lennon's "tooth dust", a photo book of celebrity champers, the parody song Love Me Tooth, and other initiatives to promote awareness of mouth cancer.

Perhaps the dentist is biting off more than he can chew with trying to recreate John Lennon.  But if that fails, perhaps he can hope to sell the song rights of Love Me Tooth.  Sounds catchy. don't you think?

That Plan Sucked

A pair of enterprising thieves  in Salt Lake, UT, took a car wash to the cleaners: They used a powerful shop vacuum to suck quarters out of a coin-operated machine, police said Wednesday.

The duo drew the suspicion of a passing police officer and failed to make a clean getaway.
"They had a good plan. They were enterprising. If they were successful they could have returned night after night," said Sgt. Gary Young in the Salt Lake City suburb of Cottonwood Heights. "More often thieves just
use a crowbar. They get an A for effort but an F for execution." (how nice to get compliments from law enforcement!)

Todd Herburg, 53, and Scott Luker, 55, were arrested Wednesday on suspicion of burglary.
More charges are pending.

What gave the men away was a crude attempt at altering their vehicle's license plates. They used a piece of black electrical tape to change a "D'' to a "B," Young said.

They used their own shop vacuum to do the work, he said. It was powered by an inverter rigged inside their Jeep SUV to produce household current. Police haven't counted their stash of quarters yet. Young said the coin-operated machine probably held no more than $30.

The fact these geniuses got some coins sucked out is amazing but seems like an extraordinary amount of effort to go for $30.00.

Bad Dog

An animal rights group is asking the maker of hot dogs designed to poke fun at New York mayoral candidate Anthony Weiner to offer a vegetarian option. ( Really??? That's their only objection?)

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals sent a letter to marketing executive Randall Richards of Orlando, Fla., who teamed with an Illinois company to create Carlos Danger Weiners -- designed to poke fun at Anthony Weiner's sexing scandal using his own made-up name. (The word poke is starting to feel uncomfortable.)

"Playing on the double entendre of Anthony Weiner's name to sell a product that can contribute to impotence in men is like selling an energy drink that puts you to sleep," PETA Senior Vice President of Campaigns Dan Mathews said. "Meat hot dogs cause misery to the animals they're made from, and they're bad for the humans who eat them. So Mr. Richards should start selling Carlos Danger Veggie Weiners."

I wouldn't think that anyone would want to eat wieners named after Anthony Weiner's alter ego's ...well...you know.  Can we all say....EWWWWW?

Minding Their Business

This week, while looking around for what weird or unusual things that  are happening in the news, I came across a few stories in the business pages.

Cafe Going to the Cats

Who knew?  Not me!  As I was looking around to see what odd things were happening out in the world this week, I noticed that a new cat cafe was being planned for Paris.  Huh? A cat cafe?  I hadn't heard of that but it turns out that there are a number of cafes around the world that have a staff of cats...(I know a group of cats is a clowder but I am talking about a clowder of cats that are working for the cafe)  to provide companionship for the cafe's patrons. In Japan alone there are 79 of the "neko cafes" as they are called there. There are also, cat cafes in London, Vienna, Taiwan, and Korea.

As for the Paris cafe, a young cat loving French woman, Margaux Gandelon is creating a cafe for the stressed out urbanites which will be named  Le Cafe des Chats.

Let's Drink to That

Couldn't Find the "What to Name Baby?" book
A Connecticut couple has named their baby with the assistance of their co-coffee drinkers over at the local Starbucks.
Jennifer James and Mark Dixon couldn't decide on a name for the baby boy they were expecting so they took the matter to the place where all matters of importance are decided...the local coffee shop.
A Connecticut couple has named its baby with help from customers at a Starbucks coffee shop.

They put up a sign at the Starbucks in New Haven Green shop, where they are regulars asking people to vote. The couple said they got the idea from  a system that the store uses for picking out an "employee of the month" letting the customers vote.
"We saw that and thought we might as well see how it works," Dixon said.
While the couple suggested the names "Jackson" or "Dixon" they did not limit the voting to just those two names. Of the approximate 1800 votes (seems like a lot of people drink a lot of coffee in New Haven) they received suggestions of Obama, Jebediah, Lincoln and Webster as some of their other choices.
Out of the suggested names "Logan" was the winner.  The baby will be named Logan Jackson Dixon.

The kid should be thankful that he didn't end up with the name "Venti Light Mocha Frap No Whip".  The next big question that the Starbucks patrons will weigh in on...to circumcise or not circumcise?
Losing His Kool
A Florida man allegedly struck his disabled father several times on the head during an argument about how to make Kool-Aid, police report.

Brandon Crosley was arrested Wednesday following the violent confrontation in the Cocoa apartment he shares with his father Greg. According to a Cocoa Police Department report, Crosley fled the residence after attacking his dad and was apprehended at a neighbor's apartment.

Greg Crosley told police that his son “was making Kool-Aid and was doing it wrong,” so he “attempted to give Brandon advice on how to properly prepare the drink.”

The ensuing “verbal altercation,” an investigator noted, “became physical when Brandon began to punch Greg in the head with closed fist.” The police report does not specify how Crosley was improperly preparing the Kool-Aid.

Brandon Crosley was charged with felony domestic violence and booked into the Brevard County jail, where he is being held in lieu of $1000. He is scheduled for a July 18 arraignment in Circuit Court.

Isn't there an old saying about too many cooks in the kitchen ??...although I am curious how one can make Kool Aid wrong.

The Perfect Tee

Christopher Haro was driving a Ford pickup truck Wednesday evening when a Roseburg Police Department officer pulled the vehicle over for a traffic violation.

During subsequent questioning, the cop concluded that Haro was intoxicated.

Haro was busted for DUI and booked into the Douglas County lockup, where he posed in his message t-shirt for his mug shot. He was freed from custody Thursday after posting bond on the misdemeanor count.

What are the odds you will have just the right outfit on for your mug shot?

Oh...I nearly forgot to talk to you about something!!!

For those of you that organize the blogs you read in Google Reader...you might be aware that Google is discontinuing it (supposedly) this week.  I have been trying out several feed readers and thought I would take the opportunity to tell you about a couple.

My favorite thus far is Feedly. That is www.feedly.com.   I was going to put a link to take you  directly to Feedly but it links you to all the blogs I read so...you will have to go there and import your own list of blogs you follow.  At Freely it will ask you to sign on to your Google account and sync all your feeds.  It was a simple click to import all the blogs you read in Google Reader to Feedly.  Also it lets you organize the blogs you read and delete them after you read them.

You can, also,  go to Bloglovin and set up an account for free.  You just type the address or browse by title of the blogs you want and it creates a page for you to access those blogs. There is an import option to sync your Google Reader feeds to Bloglovin as well, I haven't done that yet as I did some manually.

There is a good article on comparing the Bloglovin and Freely sites at I am: A Flippy Doodle. Click to read it if your are interested in setting up a place to organize all the feeds to your favorite sites. The article gives a lot of great info on the pros and cons of both.

I hope you find an easy way to continue to follow The Art of Being Conflicted.  I put a button at the upper right corner of my side bar  to get you over to  Bloglovin. As always, you can have TAOBC emailed directly to you.  Either way, I hope to continue talking...or typing...whatever...with you my Internet friends.

The B Word

Today we are bringing you the Back-page news with a lot of  "B" words involved.
Seems there is a bird that has a bit of an ego

Banish Your Bra

A French sports doctor who spent 16 years studying the busts of about 300 women sent a scare through a country known for its love of lingerie this week when he suggested bras were useless. (Useless??? ...that's harsh)

Are You Judging Me?

Did you know that no one has ever come up with a perfect bracket for the NCAA Men's basketball tournament....or if they did they kept it a secret.  No...we would of heard about it.

As it turns out, according to Jeff Bergen, a mathematical professor at DePaul University the chances of picking a perfect bracket is 9.2 quintillion.  That's 18 zeros.

Of course, to win an office pool, you only have to do better than the next guy.  That is what Crabby Pants is opting for.

Fortunes and Futures

Please Don't Be My Friend

Misty VanHorn, of Sallisaw, Okla., was arrested for trying to sell her children on Facebook in order to get money to bail her boyfriend out of jail, CBS affiliate KWTV reports.

Police say the 22-year-old VanHorn tried to sell her children, ages 2 and 10 months, to an Arkansas woman via Facebook.

Perhaps That Was a Bad Idea

Another week of oddly interesting (OK...maybe" interesting" is a bit of a stretch) but odd seems right. As always, there are a few stories that remind us that thinking before doing might be beneficial....but probably less entertaining.

The Face of Love

A tattooist has inked his name across his girlfriend's face less than 24 hours after meeting her.

Lesya Tourmaniantz from Saransk, Russia let Rouslan Tourmaniantz tattoo 'Ruslan' over her face in giant Gothic letters.

The couple, who met online in a chat room, say they fell "head over heals" in love and quickly decided they should get married.  While the couple have only been engaged since January 20th, Lesya has taken Tourmaniantz's last name and is learning how to become a tattoo artist with the tutorship of her fiance.
The happy couple

A friend of the couple says that Lesya's future plans are getting married, getting her entire body inked and having children.  He went on to say, "I know that there are people who are terrified that Leysa has made a rash decision that she will regret horribly, but sometimes the best decisions are the ones you make in an instant with your heart..."

Good thing the happy couple didn't decide to tattoo their last name across her face.

Calculating The Risks

It's been a very busy news week with a lot of important discussions flooding the Internet.  Crucial issues such as  Beyonce lip syncing her song at the Inauguration festivities and the public acceptance of Michelle Obama's bangs.  The news crews must be exhausted from the extensive coverage of these and other topics.

Breaking Rules or Rules That Are Broken

Every week as I read all the crazy stories of idiotic burglars fumbling their way into the "Weird News" columns, I can't help but think of all the funny jokes to be made at their expense.  You can't really feel too sorry for a person that ends up in trouble in their attempt to do harm to someone else and in the process bungle their way into jail.  However, there are occasionally stories, that I become conflicted over.

As you all know, I have this problem over-analyzing and weighing the pros and cons of all the assorted information that makes it to my brain.   For that reason, when I occasionally see a story that has clearly "ANOTHER SIDE", it causes me to stop and consider the situation from the perpetrators and the victims points of view.

Joy McDonald had some dogs, E, I, E, I, O...OH NO

You might of heard about the story coming out of  Missouri a couple of weeks ago about Joy McDonald being charged with a Class A misdemeanor for animal abuse because her yappy little pooches barked at the neighbor's chickens.  Joy's two Chihuahuas were out playing with their friends according to Joy when their alleged barking supposedly frightened a neighbor's nine-year-old chicken so much the fowl had a heart attack and died.  It turns out that elderly chickens are fragile and can have heart attacks.

Initially, Joy McDonald thought this was not that big of deal.  Because she lives in a rural area without leash laws, she offered her neighbor George Gamblin $30.00 for the deceased bird. (the average price of a non-pet chicken in Missouri is $2.62)  George, however, said that his wife loves her chickens and this one was a dear pet. He also, claims that McDonald's dogs, Peaches and Domino did more than bark at his chickens.

The County Prosecutor Kellie Wingate Campbell, isn't discussing the details as the case remains unsettled, but Joy McDonald is saying plenty.  If she is found guilty she could face a year in jail, a $1000.00 fine and the charge could impact her aspirations of becoming a veterinarian.

McDonald with the yappy killers and their victim
George Gamblin called the authorities and is adamant that he wants to press charges.  Joy McDonald thinks it's asinine.  The prosecuting attorney isn't saying much except "When you see this kind of case, especially in a rural county, there are other contributing factors."

There seems to be no upper limit to the amount of time I can waste on the computer...so it may not surprise you to know that I looked up up a number of local stories dealing with this event.   The consensus of most of the news agencies seemed to think that Joy would be hit with the maximum fine in a plea bargain and serve no jail time.  Several articles noted that she is probably getting treated more harshly because she didn't take Mr. Gamblin's initial phone call seriously.  She said in one article in the KC Star:

He called “screaming and cussing that his chicken was dead because my dog was barking at them,” McDonald recalled. “He said my dogs were giving him a headache.”
McDonald said she asked Gamblin if he was sure that her dogs were the culprits.
“I might have said it with a little smile because I thought it was asinine and that I was holding back (from laughing),” she said.
That only upset Gamblin further, she said.
“He’s still cussing and screaming, saying I wasn’t taking it serious enough,” McDonald said. “So eventually I hung up on him.”

So, who is right and who is wrong?  Does the fact that she initially responded in a less than concerned manner influence how you think it should be resolved?   I suppose offering him a $100.00 gift certificate to KFC might not be appropriate.  How about Taco Bell certificate.  Still not good???

Scooter Rooter

Terrissa Evans of Seligman, Missouri describes Scooter as one of her babies. Scooter is a raccoon that was rescued by Terrissa's husband, Tim when she was less than two weeks old.  He was working in a barn across the state line in Arkansas when he found  three abandoned  baby raccoons under an old couch. The Evanses maintain that an Arkansas conservation agent gave Tim Evans permission to take the cubs home, noting that they would otherwise die from lack of care.

So he did, transporting the cubs back to the family’s farm, where the Evanses also keep mules and horses and chickens. The family bottle-fed the cubs until they grew and finally released the two males into the wild after about 18 months when they became too ornery.

But Scooter, so-named because she walked poorly and scooted around the kitchen floor, was more docile, nuzzling up to the kids and their friends.

Inside the Evan's home the now 8-year-old, 20 pound Scooter sleeps at the end of Terrissa and Tim's bed, watches TV, uses a litter box and interacts with the two Evans children.

But now, Scooter is gone — removed from the Evanses’ country home by agents from the Missouri Department of Conservation who argue that it is both unsafe and illegal under state law to confine a wild animal indoors as a pet. Had the Evanses kept Scooter outside on their 30-acre farm all these years and, say, fed her on the porch, that would have been fine. “If they don’t put it in the house, it is not confined,” said Larry Yamnitz, chief of the Conservation Department’s Protection Division. “If they put it in the house, it is confined. … There is no law that allows them to have that raccoon.”

Around Seligman, a rural community just north of the Arkansas line, the case has spun into a minor controversy, one that turns on the question of what constitutes a pet as opposed to a pest.
Some worry that the raccoon, having never lived in the wild, will not survive if the Conservation Department releases her into nature. The Evanses have consulted a lawyer, contacted local media and prepared a petition aiming to save Scooter from that fate.

Emory Melton, the Evanses’ Cassville, Mo., attorney, said he is unsure whether the family has any recourse against the Conservation Department for taking the family raccoon.
“Under the conservation laws, I suspect they probably have a right to do that,” Melton said. “But, morally, it strikes me as a touch ridiculous.

“That raccoon has been with them for eight years. The only thing the Conservation Department can do is turn it out to the woods and, of course, it won’t live. It seems utterly ridiculous.” But conservation officials said the law is clear, meant for both protection and prevention. It is a Class A misdemeanor, punishable with a fine up to $1,000 and a year in jail, to house a wild animal. The Evanses have not been fined or been charged, but the Department of Conservation has up to a year to do so, officials said.

They added that the department every year has to remove wild animals being kept as pets from people’s homes. “We’ve had snapping turtles in bathtubs, snakes, raccoons, deer in the house, possums. Just about any animal you can name in Missouri, an agent, at one time or other, has removed it from a house,” said Danton Letterman, district supervisor for the southwest region of the department’s Protection Division.
Letterman said he recognizes the emotional nature of the issue.

Although the Conservation Department is charged with protecting wildlife, it also must consider human safety. Raccoons can carry distemper, rabies and giardia, a microbe responsible for gastrointestinal infections including dysentery. The Evanses insisted their raccoon never posed any danger. “She is a very gentle and loving girl with not an ounce of meanness in her,” Terrissa Evans.

In a recent column, Missouri wildlife writer Larry Dablemont took up the Evanses’ cause. A frequent critic of Conservation Department practices, Dablemont said taking Scooter from the Evanses is a case of overreaching. “It is little more than taking power and using it against people in the wrong way,” Dablemont wrote. “It wasn’t necessary, it benefits no one! There is the law, he said, and then there is common sense."  Dablemont wrote. “If you shine a flashlight at a deer from your car window, it is illegal, known as ‘harassing wildlife.’ There are all sorts of things that the (department) can charge you with because they have some silly law from out in left field to support them.”

He suggests that the Evanses be allowed to have Scooter back under the agreement that they keep her as an outdoor pet. For now, Scooter is being kept in a cage on private property by an individual licensed to keep raccoons. The Department of Conversation intends to release Scooter back into the wild.

Wouldn't you think there could be some sort of compromise on this.  The person that is presently holding Scooter in a cage has a license to keep a raccoon.  How does one get a raccoon license?  The Evans need one of those.

What are your thoughts?  Should someone have a criminal charge because of a dead chicken?  Should people not be allowed to keep a animal they consider a pet?

Freebies, Freaks, and Friday

Here we are, my friends...another Friday with another week has come and gone.  Were you glued to the television this week watching the Summer Olympics?  It seems that while many of us were focused on sportsman-like competition of few people were focused on other pursuits.

Wheels  of SUV Move Faster than Wheels of Justice

The attorney of a Utah woman charged with ramming an SUV through an office building to hit her estranged husband says she was on a large amount of anxiety medication and was "not in her right mind."

Attorney Jason Schatz made the argument Tuesday during the start of the trial for 36-year-old Brenda Christine White.
"On that day, Brenda White's body was behind the wheel of that Ford Explorer," Schatz said. "What's in dispute is why this happened."
The incident happened in 2006 but there have been several appeals because her defense attorneys have appealed to use the argument that White was under extreme emotional distress.
Authorities said White hit her ex-husband twice with her Ford Explorer after crashing through the office building in Salt Lake County.
Jon Robert White said he initially ran from a parking garage when he saw his ex-wife in the SUV. He said he ran between two parked cars, jumped over a concrete wall, and into an office, before his ex-wife crashed through the glass doors and hit him. He said he got up and ran but she drove down a hallway and chased him, hitting him again.
He said he hid in a closet until a maintenance man found him.
Brenda White's attorneys say she did not intend to kill her ex-husband. Schatz said she suffered from panic attacks and anxiety and on that day she had taken a lot of medication.
"At some point in our lives we have all done or said something that we wouldn't have done if we were in total control of our body," Schatz said.

Speak for yourself, Schatz! I might of done some stupid asinine things that I now regret but I was in control of my body...it was more my brain was not under control. Still, not once have I driven my Explorer through the hallways of an office building.

The man seems pretty good at dodging his lunatic ex-wife. Perhaps he has had
practice.

Hot Dog! They're Free

If you were walking around the streets of Manhattan, NY this week you might of thought there were new hot dog vendors hawking their dogs on the street.

Upon closer inspection...you would realize that hot dogs are not the product at these carts.

The makers of Trojan Vibrations personal pleasure devices are distributing their wares for free on New York streets with a cart modeled after a hot dog vendor.
The company said its Trojan Vibrations Pleasure Carts will distribute a total 10,000 vibrators during the month of August.
Bruce Weiss, vice president of marketing for Trojan Sexual Health. "We're always looking for ways to advance this effort by fostering an open dialogue about sexual health and creating unique moments that get people 'buzzing' (buzzing...really?) about sex and pleasure."

Interesting job Mr. Weiss has "creating unique moments" to get people talking about sex. I bet some people have gotten arrested for trying to do that.

Boyfriend Was Being a A Pain in the Ass

A Pennsylvania woman with a severely sunburned butt, stabbed her boyfriend with a large steak knife after he slapped her rear end while she was doing the dishes in her home, cops report.

According to the police report, Tiffany Sherry was cleaning the dishes when her boyfriend, Michael Martinez, “slapped her in the buttocks.” Martinez told a Bethlehem cop that he did this as a “joke” since he “was aware Sherry had sunburn in the area.”

Sherry, however, did not find this amusing and “became immediately agitated.”

Martinez told cops that “Sherry turned around from the sink and was holding a large steak knife.” As he backed away, Martinez recalled, Sherry followed him into the living room. He then asked her, “What are you going to do, stab me in front of your children?” (there's a problem!)

After directing her two children to leave the room,  (there's a solution to above stated problem) Sherry allegedly “poked” Martinez in the abdomen with the knife, and then stabbed him in the shoulder. Before stabbing him a third time, “Sherry screamed, ‘I’m going to f****** kill you.'” (why she felt the need to clarify this point, I am not sure...as I think it is pretty clear what her intentions are)

When cops arrived at Martinez’s residence, they found him bleeding from a stomach wound and observed “two distinct cuts to the front and rear of [his] right shoulder area.” Martinez was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Sherry has a prior arrest on her record. She was busted in 2008 after allegedly stabbing a man with a fork during an argument over diapers, She remained in jail on a $25,000.00 bond on this current charge.

Anyone willing to take a bet that her next arrest will involve the use of a spoon?

Baby For Sale

Not the only baby to ever show up on Craig's List
A Canadian woman called police when she found an online ad offering her baby for sale based on photos she'd posted on Facebook.
The unidentified woman in the central British Columbia town of Fort St. John called the Royal Canadian Mounted Police when she spotted the ad in an online buy-and-sell site, the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. reported.
RCMP Sgt. Steve Perret told the broadcaster the ad had been removed this week and electronic forensic investigators had a suspect.
"To me, this looks like a case of somebody's twisted or perverted sense of humor, by posting these types of ads trying to sell somebody else's child," he said. "Additionally there was an ad where he was trying to sell a dead dog."
The woman had posted pictures of her baby on Facebook, which were copied for use in the ad, the CBC said.

I don't know why this one struck me odd.  I have seen all kinds of interesting things for sale on Craig's List and Ebay.  I haven't noticed any of my minor relatives...or the dead dog but be sure to email me if you see either of those things. I think the down side to this lady seeing her baby's picture is if people were showing more interest in purchasing the dead dog. That could hurt someone's feelings.
